UK member John Bowis is the first MEP to endorse the new EMHF policy document Increasing EU focus on gender-specific health needs which aims to ensure that a gender-approach to public health policy receives appropriate consideration in the debates of the European Parliament. Now the Forum is approaching other MPs encouraging them to add their names too.
This document will contribute to raising the profile of men’s health in the European institutions. The launch of the report on the state of men’s health in 17 European countries in July 2003 and the Call for Action launched in January 2004 initiated this strategy.
