Since 1974, Christina has been Head of the Heby Primary Health Care Centre, County Council of Västmanland in Sweden. Since 1975 she has also been a member of the Board of the Local Association of General Practitioners  in the County Council of Västmanland
 
Christine is president of the UEMO (the European Union of General Practitioners) and Chairman of the General Assembly of the Swedish Association of General Practitioners. She has also held a number of posts within the Swedish Medical Association over the past decade and sat on Swedish Commissions of Inquiry into Palliative Care and Health Insurance.

A former news paper columnist and skilled linguist, Christina speaks Swedish, English, German, French, Danish and Norwegian to varying levels. She is married with three children.
