Dr Philip Evans is the former president of WONCA Region Europe. He has had a longstanding interest in international affairs.

Dr Evans worked in general practice in Canada and New Zealand and served on Department of Trade and Industry Healthcare Missions to Indonesia and India. He was also WHO adviser in Romania, Hungary, Turkey and the Czech Republic. Before becoming President of Wonca Europe, he served as a Wonca Council Member and Regional Vice President of Wonca Europe.

His academic activities include serving as honorary Professor in Mendoza, Argentina, as external examiner in Nepal and Saudi Arabia, and as lecturer at numerous Congresses worldwide.

Dr Philip Evans has also been awarded the Foundation Council Award by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) for his impressive contributions to family medicine in both his home country (UK) and internationally.
