Statutory Information

Article 3.

‘The objects of the association are the promotion of male health in Europe. The pursuit of this objective may not have discriminatory consequences and is not of a political or religious nature.

It may accomplish all acts directly or indirectly relating to its objects. In particular it may lend its assistance and involve itself in any activity similar to its objects. It may also perform services in the favour of third parties or its members, without prejudice to the main object.

The association may not pursue any profitable activity, nor any activity liable to restrict or distort competition.’

‘Any natural or juristic person, legally constituted according to the laws and practices of their country or origin, subscribing to the statutes and pursuing objectives compatible with those described in Article 3 may be a member of the association. Such persons shall be full or associate members.’

The statutes are available as PDF files in the original French and English

Full members

Full members actively participate in the organisation. They are kept informed of the association's activities and may exercise their voting right at annual meetings including the Annual General Meeting.

  • Organisations (the network)

Organisations to which full membership has been granted constitute the EMHF network. This category of membership is available to organisations actively working towards the improvement of men’s health.

Full membership as an organisation is primarily aimed at:

  • Men's health groups within European countries
  • Public health authorities and agencies
  • Universities and research institutions
  • Associations of healthcare professionals
  • Patient associations

Should an applicant organisation not be in a statutory position to become a member of EMHF, it is possible for one or more individuals from that organisation to apply for full membership in a personal capacity.

  • Other networks

With a view to maximising the effectiveness of EMHF as a platform for action at national level, other Europe-level networks (e.g. patient advocates, health professionals) are invited to work with EMHF as partners rather than network members.

  • Individuals

Full membership can be granted to key individuals positively influential in the field of men’s health who can take a proactive role in working with EMHF.

Only individuals who are full members are eligible to a Board position.

Associate members

Individuals and organisations wishing to support the organisation in the realisation its objectives may be admitted as associate members. They may attend the Annual General Meeting in an advisory capacity.

Exclusions

The following profiles will not be accepted for any type of membership:

  • Applicants promoting men's health to the detriment of that of women and/or children (e.g. misogynists)
  • Applicants deriving a commercial profit from the objectives or activities of the European Men’s Health Forum
  • Applicants advocating a political opinion or religious belief
  • Applicants promoting approaches of questionable benefit to the maintenance or improvement of health status

The status of partner with EMHF may in some cases be more appropriate than membership as an organisation. Please contact EMHF for further information.
