Some 70 participants enjoyed an excellent conference on the current issues in men’s health in Norway last month.
The Nordic conference on men’s health in Oslo on the 10 and 11 of March focused on several themes related to men’s health and illness from a perspective of gender equality. ‘Men’s illness can contribute to enhanced stereotypes in gender roles; it is really important that the health service systems accept that it is great differences in symptoms and reactions upon illness for men and women,’ said Ulf Rikter-Svendsen of Oslo-based men’s resource centre Reform, one of thr conference’s backer organisations.
The conference was arranged by: The Norwegian Forum for Men’s Health and The Nordic Network for Men’s Health in association with: NIKK , REFORM and KILDEN and supported by the Norwegian Cancer Society.
