Jim Pollard outlines the EMHF's plans to improve and develop its websites and asks for your help to do it.
We hope you find the EMHF website useful. We hope you'll find it even more useful in the future.
The site is being redeveloped by Anytime After 9 Ltd, a design company from Manchester in England. They've done an excellent job on the websites for the Men's Health Forum (England and Wales), which I also edit, and we're confident they can do the same for us.
One of the most time-consuming jobs when editing a website is making sure that everything is in the right place so that all the links work. 8ml's content management system takes care of some aspects of this which makes posting content easier. It should also improve the appearance of the site and its useability. The redesign should leave us to do what we're best at - talking about men's health in Europe.
We're particular pleased to have the opportunity to add in membership options and to tie the backend of the site into the International Men's Health Database so that the EMHF's two sites can work in harmony.
The EMHF sees its major communications challenge as to develop an effective dialogue with European stakeholders – researchers, policy makers, health professionals, patient organisations and commercial partners. With this in mind, the strategic objectives of the EMHF’s web presence are to:
- Empower all stakeholders to assist with the EMHF’s mission of improving men’s health across all countries in Europe
- Provide a centralised resource for information on European issues, initiatives and policies relating to men’s health
- Link men’s health organisations throughout Europe (and the world) to promote collaborative projects, knowledge sharing and effective use of resources.
