A new European website on men and fatherhood for professionals in the field has been launched this month.
Tina Juhl & Svend Aage Madsen, the coordinators of www.european-fatherhood.com say: ‘fatherhood is a huge part of many men’s lives, and in recent years this has become increasingly evident. There is a growing need for knowledge of issues concerning health as well as social and psychological aspects of being or becoming a father.
The aim of the website is to promote knowledge and good practice to assist professionals in supporting involved, caring fathering. This is done by presenting models of support for ‘good fatherhood’ and gender equality. The website is divided into seven topics: Political/Legislative, Psychological, Education, Employment, Social, Health, and Research. Apart from that, the website is structured around four different sections: Knowledge, Best practice, Future, and Resources.’
