The European Men's Health Forum believes in: - Non-discrimination
EMHF works towards improving the health of males of all ages, without discrimination based on ethnic, religious, cultural, political or socio-economic background. The use of generic terminology must not hide that men, or women, are heterogeneous groups and that approaches to improving their health must often be tailored to their specific circumstances.
- Gender Equity
EMHF views the improvement of women and men’s health as inextricably linked. It does not promote the reallocation of resources to the detriment of the health of women or children, and fosters collaboration with other organisations and individuals promoting the same view. Beyond the individual health of women and men, the well-being of households, families and their broader communities will also benefit.
- Holistic approach
EMHF believes both bio-medical and social dimensions of men’s health are equally important and steps to improve it must be integrated across all policy areas. Beyond traditional healthcare, concerted action is required in other fields such as employment, education, sports, environment, road and work safety.
- Transparency
EMHF prides itself on being transparent in all aspects of its work. The EMHF website is a main vehicle for the dissemination of all information regarding the management of the organisation, its relations and its activities. The Forum is committed to providing external parties with any information that may help improve clarity ot its dealings.
- Independence
EMHF sees the independent development and implementation of its strategic objectives as essential to the success of its mission. It places a high value on mutual respect and transparency any of its partnerships, whether these are with commercial organisations, governmental institutions or for-profit organisations.
