The Forum has been asked to help develop the EU Health portal.
The addition of a men’s health section is one of a number of developments to the portal including a new newsletter. Currently the men’s health section is fairly limited but with the help of the EMHF and others the Commission intend to develop it in the future.
Health Commissioner Markos Kyprianou says in the inaugural edition of the new multilingual newsletter: ‘In 2006 we launched the Public Health Portal to provide high-quality, user-friendly information on health to citizens. Building on this, the Health-EU newsletter will allow readers to receive the latest news and developments on health from a range of sources across Europe in all European languages.’
Men’s health is well-featured in the first edition. Published twice a month in 20 European languages, each edition will feature a European or international day of action in the field of health. The first edition marks European Prostate Awareness Day on 14 September and provides links to numerous sites focussing on this area in particular and on men's health in general.
